Creationism

The following statement was the official adopted statement of the board of directors for Word for the World Family Church in 2004. It is still among 14 official statements.

Whereas evolution is a theory based upon a great deal of speculation, and Whereas creationism based on scientific concepts offers a viable alternative about the subject of origins, and Whereas public education is designed to present available information and stimulate inquiry, and Whereas there are numerous resource materials (books, films, tapes and the Internet) available on the scientific concepts of "The Creation Model," Be it resolved that Word for the World Family Church goes on record this seventh day of December, 2004, to strongly support and urge local school districts to provide material based on the scientific concepts of creationism in their resource libraries and that these concepts be taught n the classroom.

The United States is not a Christian Nation. Now, you may be shocked to hear a Pastor say that. However, it is a secular nation, built upon Christian principles. The public schools should teach creation by design and not a theory of Darwinism by default.

Alcohol and Tobacco

The following statement, is the official 2004 statement, adopted by the executive board of directors for Word for the World Church in Portland, Oregon.

This historic position of Word for the World Family Church concerning the use of alcohol and tobacco has been one of abstinence. We hereby publicly reaffirm that position with regard to all Christian believers in the United States of America.

Reasons:

The National Studies on drug abuse conclude that alcohol and tobacco are the two greatest drug abuse problems in the United States.

The potential social and health hazards of each are commonly accepted among the American public. Both are generally perceived as associated with a permissive life-style not becoming for a Christian. According to the first book of Thessalonians, a Godly appearance is to be a great consideration in the life of every believer. Our Godly example must be sensitively set by us, as believers according to Romans chapter 14.

There are strong scriptural injunctions against the use of alcoholic beverage and marijuana (Proverbs 22:31-32; 20:1; 31:4-5). These passages weigh heavily against biblical teachings on moderation according to Philippians chapter 4, verse 5, or alcohol for medicinal use (I Timothy 5:23, which also implies that Timothy had conscientiously chosen the position of abstinence). Also to be considered are the options available to us as compared to our biblical counterparts.

II Corinthians 7:1 is certainly applicable to tobacco or marijuana.

Habits or practices that have the potential to dominate and control are best to be avoided (II Corinthians 6:12).

Habits or practices that have the potential to dominate and control are best to be avoided (II Corinthians 6:12).

The biblical instructions to "do all to the glory of God" (I Cor 10:31) speaks loudly to us in light of the serious problems we are having with alcohol, substance abuse including tobacco in America.

We believe our Christian testimony is best served by a position of abstinence regarding the use of alcohol and tobacco and all other forms of substance abuse.

As far as I know, there is no other person who has returned their medical marijuana card to the state of Oregon on their own volition. A man came to our service for prayer. He had a chronic back pain that would torment him. After prayer, he was so surprised to see that the pain was not only gone, but that it would not come back. Hallelujah. Later that month, he made an appointment to come see me at my office in Portland. I had never heard a question posed to me like that which I was about to hear. "Pastor, what do I do with my medical marijuana card, now that I'm healed?" I froze, not ready for the question and frankly, not having a clear answer that would suffice the State of Oregon. I told him I would call around and find out. We did and here is what we did. We explained the healing from the Lord Jesus, mailed the card back to the state of Oregon and sent it certified mail.

It is very possible to claim not only your healing but also your dependence from any chemical. Praise God. A great alcohol treatment program that we as a church refer people to is found at this link www.yourliferecovery.com.

Aquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or AIDS

What is listed below is the official statement regarding the AIDS virus today. This was adopted into our church as of 2004

Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is the most serious public health problem in the world. In this decade, tens of thousands of Americans have contracted AIDS and more than a million Americans are carriers of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). For those who have contracted AIDS, currently there is no known medical cure, and thus the results are fatal. The evidence is not clear concerning the long-term results for those who are carriers of HIV. The surgeon General of the United States has called AIDS the most serious matter any health official of any nation has ever faced.

Although there is the urgent need for education regarding AIDS, education without reference to values ignores the moral dimensions of the problem. Therefore, government or private sector programs that deny the moral element of the problem are inadequate remedies. While there are innocent sufferers of the disease, the fact remains that the two primary groups of individuals infected with HIV are practicing homosexual men and drug addicts who share needles, The link between immoral behavior and the spread of AIDS is self-evident.

Furthermore, AIDS is first and foremost a public health concern, not a civil rights issue. Hence, any proposed legislation that would confer special "civil rights" on persons infected with HIV is totally unacceptable. We believe appropriate legislation regarding this epidemic would require testing as requirement for marriage licenses [between a man and a woman only], testing of high risk groups, reporting of those with the disease to public health officials on the same basis of other sexually-transmitted diseases, and closing facilities that encourage promiscuous sexual activity.

But legislation and the best efforts of public health officials have their limits. Our Christian faith offers hope for virus infected victims. Also, our faith offers a realistic way of life, which will curb the tragic spread of the virus in that our faith calls for chastity before marriage and fidelity in marriage. For this reason, Word for the World Family Church calls upon it's church members to proclaim the hope that God has provided in Jesus Christ and to promote the practice of biblical sexual morality. We consider HIV screening and to share the results with each other before marriage. We further urge that with Christian compassion, we offer the hope of Christ's redemption, grace and healing power to victims of AIDS. We cannot permit fear or apathy to keep us from bringing the life-changing resources of our Christian faith and love to those who suffer from this dreaded disease.
Although this video may be intense in nature, because we have nearly a quarter of a million visitors, world-wide to our site, we felt it important to include the great myths regarding HIV/AIDS. We believe in the power of prayer but we also believe in Medical Science and the wisdom that God imparts to mankind. We continue to ask God to give us a key in fining a cure for this tragic disease that has taken the lives of children and adults the world over.

Abortion Statement

Adopted by the executive board of directors in the year 2004, was the official statement regarding ABORTION.

I will post 14 of our official statements which have been officially adopted by our ministry. With each posting I will include a video from Utube that best describes the issue.

We affirm, as Word for the World Family Church, our position that the moral issue of abortion is more than a question of the freedom of a woman to control the reproductive functions of her own body. It is rather a question of those circumstances under which a human being may be permitted to take the life of another. We believe that all life is a gift of God, so that neither the life of the unborn child nor the mother may be taken lightly. We believe that God Himself, in Scripture, has told us what our attitude should be towards the unborn. Several times it is specifically stated that He conferred divine blessing upon unborn infants. (Psalms 139:13,16; Luke 1:31-33, 41). He also provided penalties for actions, which result in the death of the unborn.

Therefore, we deplore in the strongest possible terms the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, which has made it legal to terminate a pregnancy.

We believe that the cause of morality is not furthered if men attempt to undermine God's authority by speculating with their own finite minds as to what circumstances might justify the killing of an unborn child.

In the extreme case where the life of the unborn child threatens the life of the mother, we affirm that the doctor has two patients and should try to save both lives if at all possible
.
This ends the official statement officially adopted by our board of directors in 2004.

I would like to say that there is plenty of medical study and research which would indicate that abortion is extremely dangerous to the health of a woman.

I have embedded an informative video to look at here that offers more on this health dangers of having an abortion.

If you have had an abortion. Repent now. Ask the Lord Jesus to have mercy on you and know that he is faith and just to forgive you of your sin.

If you are considering an abortion, I pray that God will enlighten the eyes of your understanding that you may know what the hope of His calling, the riches of His glory and the greatness of His power is towards this child of yours.

Abortion is not a new medical technology. It is a spirit of murder that has been in the earth for many years. You may recall that Herod ordered all first born infants to be slaughtered in the New Testament. There are also Old Testament accounts of government officials slaughtering newborn children.

I have covered this from a moral point of view. Let's look at it from a fiscal and social point of view.

What future tax paying boy or girl was aborted? Who's father or mother was stopped? What generation came to a DEAD END street? This would make a person a "degenerate". To de-generation a people.

O' Mighty God, have mercy upon our land. Forgive those who have trespassed against us! God bring justice to our politicians and our supreme court who have brought death and human carnage to our nation.

What can you tell me about the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is such a huge subject that in the Christian Church, there are books regarding "THE DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT". This doctrine deals with the personality, names given to the Holy Spirit, personal pronouns of the Holy Spirit, how the Holy Spirit is identified with Father, Son and to indicate personality.

Personal acts are ascribed to the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible.

In studying the Bible, you will find divine names, attributes and works which are given to the Holy Spirit.

The Work of the Holy Spirit works and is studied in proper relationship to the World, the believer, the scriptures and to Jesus Christ.

When Jesus comes to catch away the saints, the Holy Spirit will not be any more upon the earth. You will not want to live on planet earth. One of the personalities of the Holy Spirit is to be a comforter. He can only abide in believers. If you do not believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, you do not, now, have the Holy Spirit inside you to lead and guide and comfort you.

Offenses made against the Holy Spirit by sinners are resisting Him, insulting him and blaspheming him. Offenses made against the Holy Spirit by the believers are grieving Him, lying to Him and quenching Him.

Hope this helps.

Can you tell me about Atheism?

Atheism is a religion. A religion in believing in themselves and not GOD. The US government grants atheism their own 501-C3 just like a church with tax exempt status.

There are three monotheistic religions in the world: Judaism, Christianity (Catholics included here), and Islam. The second is a development of the first, the third is an outgrowth of both.

The three mentioned above are all monotheistic meaning there is only ONE GOD. This idea goes against religions who are polytheistic which, like Hindu's, believe in millions of male gods and millions of female gods.

Most of the United States believe in a Materialistic God and they are Universalized for the most part. Materialistic goes against believing in the nature of God. Instead of believing God is Spirit. They put their trust and life into matter. Universalist's believe that all religions and all God's are acceptable. But don't tell a Universalist about the bloody human sacrifices of pagan wiccans, they suddenly will reject all religions. If you reject one, you must accept only ONE.

What fly in the face of every Atheistic Believer (the belief of no God), is the Universal existence of God in the hearts and minds of people globally. Study Voltaire and you will hear him pray to God in a thunderstorm.

Ferguson was once quoted as saying, "I am not an atheist; I do not say that there is no God; But rather an agnostic; I do not know that there is a God." "I thank God I am an Atheist", were the opening remarks of an argument to disprove the existence of God.

Like the once young convert to atheism was once heard to say to coterie of unbelievers: "I have gotten rid of the idea of supreme Being, and I thank God for it."

Why is Atheism frowned upon so much you ask. It simply silly. It is a sign of arrogance and is most people with great intelligence acknowledge that it is by design and a Designer and not by default or evolution in which we can reason.
